Those hazy, blissful first moments with your newborn baby are some of the most precious in a mother’s life. You get to meet the sweet angel you’ve been carrying for nine months, and maybe it’s the endorphin rush or maybe it’s just the miracle of life — but the three times it happened to me are crystal-clear in my heart and memory. After her youngest baby Rocky’s second birthday, Kourtney Kardashian is reflecting on that special time in her life. She just shared a cozy, intimate throwback photo from his birth that’ll give you all the feels.

In the picture on Instagram, the Lemme founder holds her newborn baby on her chest. He’s tucked under a blanket and reaching out toward his mama with a little hand as he enjoys skin-to-skin contact on his mother’s breast. Kardashian looks tired and joyful as she poses in a hospital bed, and it’s so sweet.

In the next picture, she shared a picture of a well-loved children’s book called On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman. In her lengthy caption, she quoted the book: “On the night you were born, The moon smiled with such wonder That the stars peeked in to see you And the night wind whispered, ‘Life will never be the same.’ Because there had never been anyone like you…ever in the world.” (Are you crying yet? Because I sure am!)
Kardashian’s husband (and Rocky’s dad) Travis Barker commented, “🥺.” Her sister Khloe Kardashian wrote, “❤️❤️❤️.”
Someone else wrote, “The amount of times I read this to my son in NICU and then at home. 🥰 Such a precious book.”
Kardashian, who is also mom to Mason, 15, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 10, with ex Scott Disick, spent 40 days at home with baby Rocky after he was born on Nov. 1, 2023. “In many different cultures, women don’t leave the house after having a baby for 40 days, to let your body have that time to heal and beyond that,” the mom of four said in an episode of The Kardashians. “I’m really into attachment parenting. I really don’t separate from him. I love being at home right now, like my time is dedicated to taking care of my baby and bonding with him.”
On the Night You Were Born
Of course, now he is in his full toddler phase. Barker recently posted a picture of their son on Instagram, writing about his rock ‘n roll interests. “Happy Birthday my Rocky 13 🖤” the Blink-182 drummer wrote on Instagram. “You’re such a special soul, and you make every day brighter. I love you.”
“No one’s cooler,” Barker went on. “Guitars, drums, pirates, boom boom pow and Angus Young forever 🎸🥁🏴☠️ 🥊”
