Taylor Swift isn’t holding back about her life, but she’s not talking about Travis Kelce.
The 36-year-old pop star talked about her infamous 2023 breakups with Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy on the fourth episode of her Eras Tour: The End of an Era docuseries. The episode, which dropped on December 19, featured Swift talking about the emotional impact of the breakups early on in the tour.
“There were points in this tour where the tour was really the only thing keeping me going in my life,” she revealed. “But there were never points in the tour where I thought, ‘Oh I want to quit the tour because the tour is hard.’ No, my personal life was hard.”

Swift didn’t get specific about her relationships with Alwyn and Healy, but she did acknowledge that it was challenging.

“I went through two breakups on the first half of this tour,” she continued. “That’s a lot of breakups, actually. This show is what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed. The tour has never been the hard thing in my life. The tour has been the thing that allowed me to find purpose outside of the s—t that was going on in my life.”
She then summed up, “Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will.”
Swift and Alwyn kept much of their relationship out of the spotlight during their six years together. They began dating in 2016 and quietly broke up in early 2023. The reason cited for their breakup was “differences in their personalities,” per a People source.
“They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together,” the insider divulged while revealing that the duo “weren’t the right fit for one another” in the end.
Swift then had a whirlwind romance with Healy in May 2023 after making a surprise appearance at The 1975’s London show in January of that year. “She and Matty are madly in love,” the source claimed to The Sun in May 2023. “It’s super-early days, but it feels right.” Well, it wasn’t right, and the fling was over by June despite rumors that they were back in contact in July.
Little did Swifties know, the Kelce era was just around the corner. The NFL star would become her official endgame, and those days of heartache were over for Swift.
